IBC Bank Announces Inaugural School Supply Fund Drive
(July 9, 2014) SAN ANTONIO, Texas – IBC Bank-San Antonio, the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of San Antonio South proudly announced their partnership in hosting an inaugural “Stuff the Bus” and Family Health Fair event at a press conference this morning at IBC Bank’s Roosevelt branch location. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 9 at Pica Pica Plaza. Leading up to the event, the organizations also announced a month-long, kick-off campaign to collect school supply funds at all IBC Bank locations in San Antonio to directly benefit AVANCE-SA.
Executives from IBC Bank, the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of South San Antonio and AVANCE-SA made remarks regarding the fund drive and the upcoming health fair. The event will be free to the public and will include basic health check-ups, information booths and financial literacy seminars led by IBC Bank employees. As many children go without even the most basic classroom necessities, the event will work towards giving area children what they need to start the new school year on a positive, healthy note.
“IBC Bank strives to reinvest in our growing communities, especially in the future leaders of our communities, the children of San Antonio,” IBC Bank-San Antonio Senior Vice President Eddie Aldrete said. “This inaugural ‘Stuff the Bus’ and Family Health Fair event allows us to provide area children the opportunity to start the school year off well with both health check-ups and much needed school supplies, and we’re honored to make an impact in each of their young lives.”
In addition to Aldrete’s remarks, South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce President Al Arreola, Rotary Club of South San Antonio President Elect Rosie Ramirez and AVANCE-SA Director of Fund Development Dinorah “Deedee” Gonzalez also discussed the growing need for school supply funding, health fairs and other back to school initiatives in South San Antonio.
The “Stuff the Bus” and Family Health Fair event will be hosted at Pica Pica Plaza located at 910 S.E. Military Drive, San Antonio, TX 78214, on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and will be free to the public.
