IBC Foundation Commits $75,000 To Humanitarian Efforts in Ukraine
IBC Bank and its holding company, IBC, are committed to positively impacting the communities where its customers and their families live and work. Staying true to their motto, "We Do More," IBC felt compelled to stand with the people of Ukraine during the devastating humanitarian crisis we are all witnessing.
IBC's philanthropic arm, the IBC Foundation, just recently made a $25,000 donation to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). MSF provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, natural disasters, epidemics and healthcare exclusion. MSF has long had a presence in Ukraine and has paused its typical humanitarian efforts to assist medical facilities with supplies, water, sanitation support and mass casualty training.
Additionally, the IBC Foundation also contributed $25,000 to Save the Children, an organization working to protect and care for children and families in Ukraine by providing food and emergency shelters. Save the Children delivers child-focused emergency response and helps improve children's lives through education, health care and protection programs.
CARE, a not-for-profit working to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice, is also providing aid to the millions of Ukrainians who are displaced. The IBC Foundation also gave $25,000 to CARE, which is supporting the most vulnerable Ukrainians, particularly women-led households and the elderly, through the distribution of food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance.
"Although this crisis is taking place many miles away, we can help remove some of the pain and fear from Ukrainian families who are courageously fleeing everything they know," said Dennis E. Nixon, President and CEO of IBC and IBC Bank. "We encourage communities to come together in support of the millions of families displaced and the many organizations working around the clock to provide aid and respite."
Since 1966, IBC has been committed to supporting individuals and communities affected by natural disasters, conflict and more.
