Commerce Bank Hosts "Get Acquainted" Party & Membership Drive for Laredo A&M Mother's Club

(June 28, 2019) LAREDO, Texas -Commerce Bank was proud to once again host the annual "Get Acquainted" party and membership drive for the Laredo A&M Mothers' Club on Thursday, June 27. The bank has been hosting the event for almost 15 years. Current and future Aggies and their parents attended the reception to network and learn more about the Laredo A&M Mothers' Club, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to contribute in every way to the comfort and welfare of the students and to cooperate with Texas A&M University in maintaining a high standard of moral conduct and intellectual attainment.

 

"One of the primary objectives of our club is to raise funds that go directly to support local Aggies through scholarships," explained America Paez-Miranda, president of the Laredo A&M Mothers' Club. "We are grateful to Mr. Urrabazo and Commerce Bank for their financial contributions as well as for providing us a space year after year to host our membership drive. They have played a significant role in the growth of our club."

 

Commerce Bank is a proud supporter of the Laredo A&M Mothers' Club and bank officers were in attendance to offer financial literacy advice to the students and their parents.

The Federation of Texas A&M University Mothers' Clubs was organized in 1928 and has grown to include 108 individual Member Clubs located across Texas and throughout the nation. In addition to awarding scholarships to individual students, A&M Mothers' Clubs serve Texas A&M University by financially supporting campus organizations.  The Aggie Band, the Corps of Cadets, the Endowment Fund for Sterling C. Evans Library, Fish, Transfer and S.A.L.T. Camps, Peer Orientation Conferences, CARPOOL, and over 1,000 other Student Organizations receive financial support each year from Aggie Moms' Clubs.
