Corpus Christi, Texas (July 11, 2023) - The Board of Directors of IBC Bank-Corpus Christi voted unanimously to appoint Thomas A. "Dos" Gates, Jr. to their board.  Mr. Gus Barrera, IBC Bank CEO stated, "Mr. Gates brings business experience and knowledge which will allow our bank to continue to lead in the Corpus Christi region. I am also very excited that his philanthropic activities align with the bank's mantra, "Do More." 

Mr. Gates grew up in Corpus Christi and Laredo, Texas.  He graduated from Texas Christian University in 2006 and soon after moved back to Laredo to work for his grandfather, Blackstone Dilworth.  In 2009 Mr. Gates and his wife, Samantha Gates, made the move to Corpus Christi.  During this time Mr. Gates has delved into the oil and gas industry with great success.  He currently operates various oil and gas developments and projects among other business ventures including Titan Marine Fuel, LLC. 

In addition to his business success, Mr. Gates also embodies IBC's "Do More" mantra through his significant community involvement.  He currently serves as an active board member on various local non-profit organizations, including the Texas State Aquarium, The USS Lexington, and the Foster Angels of South Texas.   In 2015, Mr. Gates and wife co-chaired the American Cancer Society's Cattle Barron's Ball, and in 2017 they also co-chaired Driscoll Children's Hospital Fiesta de los Ninos.  

Mr. Gates joins a prestigious group of community leaders who serve as directors of the board guiding IBC Bank's mission to serve the financial needs of every individual and business with person to person, hometown service.
