IBC Bank - Houston honors 3 high school seniors with the A.R. Sanchez, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

 

(July 24, 2020) HOUSTON - IBC Bank-Houston remained steadfast in promoting higher education by awarding a combined $3,000 in scholarships to three high school graduates embarking on a new journey of their adult lives.

 

"The A.R. Sanchez, Sr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded to those students who demonstrate their "Do More" philosophy throughout their high school years." IBC Bank-Houston CEO Jay Rogers said, "These deserving high school seniors are the future community leaders of our city and state, and we are honored to assist them in pursuit of their higher education goals and success."

 

Born into a humble family, Antonio R. Sanchez, Sr., the namesake of the scholarship and the founder of IBC Bank, was a staunch advocate supporter of higher learning and assuring everyone who desired an education was availed that opportunity. Sanchez's commitment to the power of learning lives on in the A.R. Sanchez Scholarship, which is bestowed annually upon deserving high school seniors in Texas and Oklahoma.

 

This year, IBC Bank-Houston presented a total of three A.R. Sanchez, Sr. Memorial Scholarships, each valued at $1,000 across three area high schools. Scholarship award recipients included:

Hanni Mirza                                           Alief Early College High School

Elizabeth Lopez-Aguilar                        Alief Early College High School

Cadalese Ortega                                   Dickinson High School

 

In 2020, IBC Bank presented over $120,000 in scholarships to high school seniors throughout their corporate footprint in Texas and Oklahoma.
