McALLEN, TEXAS (OCT. 18,2019) - IBC Bank-McAllen has been named the October Business of the Month by the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce. Business of the Month is a recognition that is awarded by the Chamber Ambassador Committee to businesses for their outstanding service, commitment and contribution to the community.

"It's an honor to be named Business of the Month," said IBC Bank-McAllen president & CEO Adrian Villarreal. "We are proud to support and partner with the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce. This award is a true testament to our passionate team that is committed to ‘doing more' in Edinburg and communities in which we operate."

IBC Bank provides a diverse array of financial products and services to the community, both personal and commercial. The bank is involved in helping the community with a variety of initiatives across the entire Rio Grande Valley. Each year the bank awards selected high school students with $1,000 as part of their A.R. Sanchez Scholarship program. The need-based scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated a commitment to IBC's "Do More" philosophy.

In addition, IBC Bank-McAllen set out to help its schools and communities with a program that not only assists schools in addressing attendance issues, but also provides students with real-life skills.

The Minitropolis® program concept was created in 1996 as a tool to help teachers impart the importance and significance of financial literacy at a young age. This year, the bank plans to launch Minitropolis® in five new schools for a total of 17 participating campuses.

"We feel very fortunate to have the longtime support and partnership from our dear friends at IBC Bank," said Edinburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ronnie Larralde.
