BANDA APPOINTED TO UNITED WAY LAREDO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Longtime IBC Bank manager has worked at the bank for 38 years

(MARCH 31, 2017) LAREDO, TEXAS – IBC Bank is proud to announce the appointment of bank manager Becky Banda to the board of directors of United Way of Laredo. Some of her duties as board member will include educating the public about United Way, raising money and ensuring that the funds be used appropriately among the 23 organizations.
Banda is a senior vice president of operations and manager of quality control and litigation started working at IBC Bank 38 years ago as a teller before working her way up to several supervisory positions. She has volunteered her time with various organizations in Laredo before committing to her time with United Way.
“Through IBC, I became familiar with all the good work United Way of Laredo does in our community and have always supported them with my contributions,” Banda said, who has been an IBC Bank employee for 38 years. “Our CEO is very committed to our ‘doing more’ bank slogan by matching our donations to United Way dollar for dollar. I am thrilled and humbled to be a part of such a wonderful organization that helps so many people in my community.”
IBC Bank and Commerce Bank, together with employees across Texas and Oklahoma, donated more than $370,000 to United Way in 2016 comprised of funds donated by employees and matched by IBC Bank and Commerce Bank. In Laredo, IBC Bank-Laredo and Commerce Bank donated $137,000 that directly fund area United Way projects.
“I am proud to have Becky serve on the United Way board of directors not only because it’s an organization IBC Bank strongly supports, but also because I believe Becky will be an outstanding board member with her strong leadership qualities,” said IBC Bank --Laredo CEO Imelda Navarro.
