AUSTIN, Texas (Dec. 12, 2018) - IBC Bank-Austin President & CEO Robert B. Barnes was awarded the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) Gary S. Farmer Commendation of Excellence at an awards lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel on Tuesday, December 11. The prestigious award honors a RECA member who has made a valuable contribution to RECA and its mission in the community throughout their career.

"The mission of RECA is to advance civic leadership in support of responsible development and a livable Austin," explained RECA Board Chair Pam Madere. "Under Bob's leadership, IBC-Bank Austin has made significant contributions toward community reinvestment throughout the entire region. He truly exemplifies the meaning behind the Gary S. Farmer Commendation of Excellence."


Robert "Bob" Barnes is an established leader in the Texas banking industry with more than 30 years of experience. As president and CEO of IBC Bank-Austin, he oversees and directs the bank's activities throughout the entire Austin region. He also serves as president of IBC Mortgage and IBC First Equity, IBC's mortgage divisions, which specialize in first and second lien mortgages, and home equity lending.


"I was honored to lead IBC's official entry into the Austin Market in 2004, and am extremely grateful to RECA for this special recognition," said Barnes. "I share this commendation with the entire IBC Bank family and their steadfast commitment to doing more in the communities we serve."
